Kitchener Basement Waterproofing is a booking line. It is not a waterproofing company, and it is not a directory that sells your enquiry to a list of bidders. It connects to one local waterproofing contractor working across the city and the Region — the block-in-clay subdivisions of Forest Heights, Stanley Park and Country Hills, the stone basements downtown and around Victoria Park, the high water table lots along the Grand River and Schneider Creek, the new builds in Doon South and Huron Park, and the same mix in Waterloo, Cambridge and Breslau.

Wet basements attract a particular kind of selling. A homeowner standing in an inch of water on a Sunday morning is not in a position to compare methods, and the trade has its share of full-perimeter interior systems sold where a downspout extension would have done, exterior digs sold for water that was coming up through the floor, and crack injections sold on walls that were bowing. It also has the opposite: a coat of waterproof paint on a saturated block wall, which hides the problem for a season and then peels.

The point of this site is a straight line to a contractor who finds the source before naming a method, looks at the outside of the house as carefully as the inside, prices the wet wall rather than the whole house when that is the honest answer, says when the fix is grading and a downspout, and tells you plainly when what you have is not a water problem at all. A wall that is bowing or a crack that is widening is a foundation contractor's job, and you will be told to call one.

What we will not do: publish reviews we do not have, invent a rating or a star count, show a portfolio of projects that are not ours, quote a fixed price on a website, claim to be a certified installer for any product brand, or sell your phone number. This site is new. It says what it can do and nothing more.

What the contractor handles

• Exterior excavation waterproofing: membrane, dimple board, new weeping tile, backfill and grading
• Interior drainage systems: footing channel, wall membrane, sump connection, floor poured back
• Weeping tile replacement outside or inside, camera inspection, and disconnection from the sanitary sewer
• Sump pits and pumps, battery and water-powered backups, alarms, proper discharge
• Window well drains, liners, covers and grading
• Sealing cracks that leak but are not moving, with flexible polyurethane injection

What it does not handle

Structural foundation work — cracks that are widening, bowing or leaning walls, underpinning, piering, rebuilding stone or block — is a foundation contractor's trade and is not offered here, though the two are often coordinated on the same house. Mould remediation is a separate specialty. Backwater valves and drain plumbing are a plumber's work. Discharge rules and any permits belong to the City of Kitchener or the municipality you are in, the Region of Waterloo publishes guidance on basement flooding and the programs that may help, work near the rivers and creeks may involve the Grand River Conservation Authority, and anyone on your property should be able to show current WSIB coverage. You will be told when a job belongs to someone else rather than sold something that will not fix it.

How this works

When you call 226-242-9124 or send the form, your details go straight to the waterproofing contractor's office. They arrange a visit to find where the water is coming in, inside and outside, and then quote the work in writing with the method named, the linear footage and components listed, and locates and any approvals included where the job needs them. The work is done under their own insurance. Your information is not sold, not shared with a list of competing companies, and there is no markup added to your bill for the introduction.
